Topi Heikonen, CEO

I have always felt that I am cosmopolitan. It can be influenced by the fact that my grandfather Hermann Mock was from Southern Germany.  We sometimes attend family reunions in Regensburg region. Hermann had a factory in Helsinki where I viseted as a kid – I suppose that this is the reason why I became interested in entrepreneurship and business life.

My interest in Sweden started with the language several years ago. My boss at the time Pär Myntti, who was Finnish-Swedish, said to me: “Topi, if you want to make a career, it is important to speak Swedish”. This invitation was the starting point and I started studying Swedish in my spare time. Of course I knew the basics because the Swedish language is a compulsory subject in all Finnish schools.

I have several years of experience in exporting/importing products and services between Sweden and Finland. I have worked in both countries – I moved to Scania and became an economist at Lund University in 2007. I liked Scania’s climate and atmosphere but the dialect was largely impossible to understand! My beloved daughter was born in Lund and today she is very good at both Finnish and Swedish – she is better at German language than me!

My educational background is MBA (Hamburg 2016) and Dipl-.Kffr.  with International Management (Kiel 2006). Actually, I started my studies of Foreign Trade and Marketing in Vaasa, Finland. I am eager to know and learn everything about export sales and internalization!

I originate from Turku Finland and I have lived in Germany, USA, Malaysia and Dubai – I can easily regard me as cosmopolitan too!

I have worked in various positions in international trade and sales, marketing, project management and business development.  I have helped different companies with export – from start-ups to established large companies. My main industries are (high-quality) consumer goods, logistics, aviation, chamber of commerce.

Having lived in Germany for over 20 years,  I have supported several Finnish companies on the German market. Through multidisciplinary experience, I know the German market and has a comprehensive network of contacts there.

I am happy to share my expertice in export sales for your companys best!
